Yoga is Black with Dr. Bernasha Anderson
This episode is all about reclaiming our space in restorative healing – Yoga is Black.
This episode of The Unfolding: Presented by The Loveland Foundation with our new host, Rachel Keener, is joined by counseling psychologist and yoga teacher @Dr.Bernasha.
Dr. Bernasha Anderson (she/her) is a licensed counseling psychologist, wellness consultant, and certified yoga teacher. She founded Thryve Wellness House PLLC, a private practice based in Washington, DC, to empower Black women, girls, and non-binary folx in our mental wellness journeys. Utilizing mind-body-based approaches such as yoga, mindfulness meditation, and breath practice, Dr. Bernasha helps individuals and families reclaim restorative healing tools that help them live a life reflective of their values.
Dr. Bernasha works alongside organizations such as The Loveland Foundation and Cushman & Wakefield to develop employee wellness programming designed to support the mental well-being of their teams. She co-facilitates quarterly peer support groups for The Loveland Foundation where cohort members connect and heal within the community. Cohort members can access meditations facilitated by Dr. Bernasha through The Loveland Foundation. Dr. Bernasha also serves as one of the contributors to the foundation's monthly meditation series. This free series reduces barriers to mental health resources and aids cohort members in creating sustainable mental wellness practices.
The Loveland Foundation would like to thank Dr. Bernasha for joining us for this episode. We hope you enjoy listening.
The Unfolding: Presented by The Loveland Foundation podcast is an additional resource not only to the public but to our therapy fund cohort members. The Loveland Foundation therapy fund and resources are only made possible through support from our community.
At The Loveland Foundation, we are committed to showing up for communities of color in unique and powerful ways, with a particular focus on Black women and girls. Our resources and initiatives are collaborative and they prioritize opportunity, access, validation, and healing.
Since our founding, the Therapy Fund has provided financial support for therapy to over 13,000 Black women, girls, and non-binary individuals across the country. This year our goal is to provide free therapy to at least 6,000 more.
